Saturday Fun

We had a super day Saturday! It was a long rainy day filled with busyness.
We visited the new farmer's market in town. It is so nice to finally have a farmer's market on our side of town! Then we went to the Hot Rods for batting practice- which was rained out, but we visited with friends and ate lunch- so we had fun. Then we stopped at an art fair on the square and found these sweet duck tape flower pencils and pens. We bought a pencil for our niece Lillie's recital which we attended that night. It was such a busy fun day!

Bella's Baby Blanket

Ipod Touch

For Billy's birthday we bought an Ipod Touch- I have to say I love it!!! Who knew I would like it so much- I literally use it every day. For an ebook reader... to watch movies... and so much more!! Right now Lilly is watching Hercules on it! I am so glad we got one; I actually like the size of it- we thought about trying to get an Ipad... Now only if the would get that app for Netflix streaming done!

Flannel Sheets

My flannel sheets... I love them because they are warm and cozy. We are trying to keep the heat down as much as possible this year to help with costs and the sheets keep me warm and toasty. They are so comfortable I hardly want to get out of bed. I LOVE THEM!!!

Stitch and Bitch

Just wanted to share that knitting is one of my favorite hobbies and Stitch and Bitch is my favorite accessory to that hobby!

I think these are super cute... there are many in different styles and I am currently on the look out for some of them. Martha Stewart had some at KMart but they aren't selling them any longer. These are another thing on my future wish list.

Stuff White People Like

Ashley introduced me to this website and I just think it's funny. Some of the things on the list I really do like! Like the unpaid internship which I am currently partaking in. I, also, like study abroad, recycling, vintage, Netflix, having two last names, expensive sandwiches, and many more... However, composting is not on the list and I love composting!!!

Sandra Boynton

Sandra Boynton is a writer of children's songs, I guess you could say. She writes really cute funny music. Linked above is her website where you can go and check it out. I just love them because I think it's really cute funny stuff that you can play with the kiddos and they and you can enjoy it... With songs like Tickle Time and I Love you more than cheese; how can you not smile?

Reusable Shopping Bags

While at the store the other day I was scoffed at by a cashier when I handed her my reusable cloth shopping bag. She said something to the effect of, "Do you really like those? I hate them!" Well, here is my answer, Yes, I really like them.

Reasons:

1. They are more durable. Every time I get plastic bags there always seems to be one that falls apart, throwing my things literally everywhere... There goes my soda rolling away.


2. Plastic bags seem to reproduce in my house... I feel guilty throwing them away and so they collect. and collect... and collect. Until I have tons of them and have no idea what to do with them.

3. I can fit more into a reusable bag and throw it over my shoulder. Quick and easy...

4. I can use them for a variety of other purposes.

5. When I go to the mall I only need one bag... usually I can fit everything from any store in one reusable bag... eliminating the 4 or 5 I may have been carrying around.

Today, you can buy your own at practically every store out there or you can go to Greenopolis and buy one.

Water Bottle

One of my new favorite things is my water bottle. I searched high and low for one that I liked. In an effort to reduce our outgoing waste we opted to purchase a water pitcher with a filter instead of using bottled water all the time. I really like this idea, but needed a bottle that I could take with me on the go. I a hot pink one exactly like the one on the left at Target. It is so convenient and, I think, stylish.
